I'm profile manager for Temperance Packard but Mayflower Society needs proof of her parents and what I have does not satisfy although I can't find any other.

You face a steep uphill climb there! It seems that there are vital records entries for her marriage and death (plus a gravestone that documents her death date and age), but no such record for her birth or baptism.

I assume that the Mayflower Society is challenging you to find a will, a land record, a contract, or similar document that will connect Temperance to her parents (or at least whichever of her parents is a proven Mayflower descendant). Do you know whether descendants of any of her siblings have qualified for membership? If so, do you know what records they found and how they found them?

Thank you Ellen Smith. I will see what I can find on Temperance's siblings and children to see if any of them might have qualified for the Mayflower Society.

Hi Doris,

It may be because some of the information on Joseph Packard’s wiki profile is incorrect; e.g. his mother was Susanna Mitchell; not Mary Willis. Because there were THREE Joseph Packards born (1725-1730) in the Bridgewater, MA area their biographical info often gets mixed up. Definitive information on the Josep Packards can be in Packard Family Journal “Packard’s Progress” (Volume 36. November 1997. Researching other editions of the journal may reveal more info on Temperance.

Good luck and best regards,

Ron Perkins

Thank you, Ron Perkins. I'm just now finding this response. I'm going to go back and research Joseph Packard, and hope that will solve the problem.
