I'm thinking of all of you today and wishing you enjoy an outpouring of appreciation from your progeny.  After all, without your (collective) contributions, none of the people in the world today would exist!

My wife had me convinced yesterday was father's day, so I marched down to my father's house with both of my boys.  We waltzed in, shoes off, spread out all over his living-room and started shootin' the breeze.  After about ten minutes my dad says "so what brings you guys down today?"  That lead to a nice little education by my mother explaining how it works.  So next year, if my wife remembers what my mother said, I'll get it right :)

That's neat!  You could have recovered by telling your Dad that he's so important that you wanted to start celebrating early to have enough time for all that he deserves.

Right now, my husband is totally oblivious to the world around him - he is totally focused on figurng out how to get the controller to charge the toy stunt airplane that is intended for 10 year olds ... he just can't wait to fly it!!!  That's what the dogs and cat gave him for father's day.
