Restoring data. Is there a problem?

I am trying to restore data but every time I try to do so, a message comes up saying 'no changes selected'. There was nothing on the screen to give me any options as to what data I wished to change, although given that I came from the Family Activity Feed, to me, it was obvious that there was only one set of changes to restore. Am I missing something?

It depends on what type of change you are trying to restore. If you try to restore a change made to a location field or the biography, that should work.

If you are trying to restore a change made to a relationship, you need to use another method (such as removing the connection to the person in question).

I was simply trying to remove 'United Kingdom' from the Marriage location field which had been added overnight. I have a recollection that when I have done this before, a separate screen came up. I may be wrong but it certainly doesn't seem to work at present.

Hi Derek. This does seem to be a limitation of data restoration. See this previous G2G discussion.

Does it work to edit the marriage details (from the right hand column of the edit screen for the profile of either spouse) and change the location field back to blank?

I think that covers it. I can restore it manually by going into each profile but a bit of a faff. I now know there is a problem so I won't throw my PC out the window.

United Kingdom is correct for 1879.

But it's not mandatory to use it. I prefer not to, although I wouldn't dream of dictating whether others should or not.
