Only connected thru marriage on paternal side .I was quite a fan  in my youth. The wreck of the edmund fitzgerald is an interesting song considering there actually was a ship of that name that sank in the great lakes.

I think my connection is 24 degrees.

23 degrees through my grandmother Tremblay.  While my father's Bourg line is very short and direct, it's my grandmother who gives me the most interesting connections.

In college I listed to a LOT of Gordon Lightfoot. and love all of his music  Went to a concert of his a few years ago and was sad to realize he had lost much of his wonderful voice.  If You Could Read My Mind has to be a favorite for me.

My late husband and I also went to his concert in Portland, Oregon about 2014 and we too realized he didn't have the same wonderful tone to his voice. It was sad.

Not related but loved his music. I grew up on the Canadian side of the St. Claire River and would boat alongside the Edmund Fitzgerald when it came up and down the river from delivering iron ore from Superior to ports in Michigan and Ohio.  I always could tell when the Fitzgerald was passing because of the low mournful sound of it's horn.
