I would appreciate some help working on a cemetery?

I've been working on a Wisconsin cemetery for quite a few years, but lack the skills to finish. Currently, we have 775 profiles in the category, [[Category:Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenville, Wisconsin]] but Find-a-Grave lists 963 memorials. I don't have a printer so I can't print a list to compare with the Wikitree profiles. I'm getting a bit frustrated so can anyone find a way for me to look up whose missing?

Hi Bev. Try looking at Aleš's report at this link:

https://plus.wikitree.com/function/WTCemetery/Cemetery.htm?cemetery=Immanuel_Lutheran_Cemetery%2C_Greenville%2C_Wisconsin

I have to say I find it hard to navigate these reports, but I think if you scroll down to the section headed

FG Cemetery:Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery

then look at the subsection headed "No Category" with 66 memorials, you may find at least some of what you're looking for.

JIM, I AM USING ALL CAPS TO HELP MY PARTNER (WHO IS LEGALLY BLIND) ON THIS CEMETERY PROJECT READ YOUR RESPONSE.

THIS REPORT IS MOST HELPFUL. WHAT IS THE DRILLDOWN SO WE CAN FIND IT ON OUR OWN? HOW OFTEN IS IT UPDATED?

I AM 70, GOING ON 5 WHEN DEALING WITH NEW COMPUTER STUFF. HAVE WORKED ON PROFILES AND SOURCING FOR YEARS BUT STEPPING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE WITH THIS ONE PLACE STUDY.

ONE PLACE STUDIES ARE WONDERFUL AND REWARDING, BUT A LOT OF WORK. YOU AND Aleš's HAVE REALLY HELPED ME BY PROVIDING ACCESS TOTHIS NEW TOOL

Hi Bev. If you go to the category page

Category: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenville, Wisconsin

and look in the Category Information Box, the report is linked from the "WikiTree+ Report" item as

Detailed report on profiles and related FG cemeteries

With regard to all caps, there may be better solutions, such as screen readers. It might be worthwhile discussing with the Accessibility Angels project.

The reports are updated weekly. This is indicated at the very bottom of the report, at present

Date of report: 2023-06-04 20:20:04 Date of Data: 28 May 2023

Thank you very much for your good directions and feedback.

GOOD AFTERNOON BEV,

I'M NOT YELLING IN ALL CAPS, JUST LEGALLY BLIND.

I DON'T HAVE A PRINTER EITHER BUT IF YOU WERE WILLING TO MESSAGE OR EMAIL ME THE LIST YOU HAVE, PREFERABLY IN ALPHABETICAL SURNAME ORDER, I'D BE HAPPY TO JUMP ON FIND A GRAVE AND COMPARE NOTES AND SEND YOU A LIST OF THE THE HEADSTONES THAT YOU ARE MISSING.

P.S.  IT'S TAKEN ME OVER AN HOUR JUST TO FIND THE CEMETERY ON WIKITREE. VERY FRUSTATING!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR OFFER OF HELP. IS READING EASIER FOR YOU IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS?

MY WORK IS  FROM THE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION'S TYPED LIST OF THE INTERRED BY PLOT AND GRAVE, SO IS ON PAPER AND NOT ALPHABETIZED. THE ISSUE, APPEARS TO BE ONE OF MY OWN MAKING, ERRORS IN ENTERING THE DATA. IF YOU WOULD CARE TO WORK WITH CORRECTING THOSE ERRORS, YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, BUT NOW THAT I UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE, I CAN TACKLE IT.

BY ITSELF, THE LIST SHOULD QUALIFY AS A SOURCE, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SET IT UP. THIS WOULD PROVE HELPFUL FOR SOURCING INFANTS AND CHILDREN THAT WERE BORN AND DIED BETWEEN CENSUS RECORDS BEFORE THE STATE KEPT RECORDS. HAVE YOU DEALT WITH THIS ISSUE.

THANK YOU FOR REACHING OUT,

BEV
HI BEV,

THANK YOU FOR THE ALL CAPS, IT HELPS SO MUCH!

UGH, A PAPER LIST! THAT REMINDS ME OF THE DAYS WAY BACK WHEN THE LDS CHURCH WERE INDEXING USING NOTE CARDS. YOU'D RECEIVE A BOX OF THESE THINGS AND THEN HAD TO TYPE UP THE CORRECT INFO. WHAT A TRIP THAT WAS.

I'D BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU WITH THE ERRORS BUT I'M AFRAID AS A ROOKIE ON HERE I'M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO NAVIGATE AROUND. I DON'T THINK I WOULD BE MUCH HELP WITH SOURCING RECORDS.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO PROCEED WITH CORRECTING THE ERRORS?
IT'S BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE I WORKED WITH THESE SPREADSHEETS. TODAY, I ADDED THE CATEGORY TO THE 66 OR SO PROFILES THAT WERE ENTERED BEFORE A CATEGORY WAS AVAILABLE. REALLY, SIR KNIGHT, THE NEXT STEP IS TO SEE WHY NO FIND-A-GRAVE MEMORIAL IS DEFINED. I THINK THAT MEANS THE FORMAT I USED (WHICH WAS AN ANCESTRY FORM INCLUDING A BIO) NO LONGER LINKS - I'M REMOVING THE WHOLE ANCESTRY NOTATION AND GOING WITH JUST * URL: HTTPS://WWW.FINDAGRAVE.COM/ ETC.

MY METHOD IS A BIT TRIAL AND ERROR. YOU HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF EXPERIENCE SO MAYBE YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA?

MY INTENTION WITH THIS ONE PLACE STUDY WAS TO DOCUMENT THE GERMAN IMMIGRATION IN WISCONSIN, THUS USE 'FIND-A-GRAVE' SORTED BY CEMETERY IN THIS AREA. I WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON A SMALLER CEMETERY NEXT TIME.

I APPRECIATE ANY OF YOUR FEEDBACK,

BEV
Hello, Knight,

After looking at the list, from the "no cemetery defined" are Find-a-grave profiles that I created. They did not appear until now, as far as I know. One example would be Kelly Marie Wegner (1977-1978) #249466514. On find-a-grave, I am known as Quiet Respect.

Children that were born between the census years and before there was consistent reporting, may have no other record than on a cemetery list. Often, no engraved stone was placed and the family may have moved away. I took the liberty to create find-a grave-listing for most of the children and adults when I could find a death certificate.

For older settlers, it is also possible a marker was never placed or that over the years the marker was broken by falling limbs or trees or by the freeze and thaw of temperatures. This cemetery, a few years ago, looked like Boot Hill. The Cemetery Association has straightened most of the monuments and planted quite a few trees to make it more garden-like. They do not replace the monuments, as this must be paid for by remaining famiy members that choose to replace the gravestones.
