Hi WikiTreers!

I'd like to get a few more testers for the Safari version of the WikiTree Browser Extension before I submit it to the Apple App Store.

If you are interested, let me know!

Hi Jamie, I have an iMac, but I use Brave as my browser.  Would that help? Kitty

You should be able to install the Chrome version on Brave (that's what I normally use).
What does this browser extension do?  Is it like WikiTree X?
It does a lot of things! Here is the page explaining all the features: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension

I have iOS devices and an intel Mac. Will the Mac extension work?
by Ronald Laird G2G1 (1.6k points)
It works for me on an Intel chip. I believe the restriction on the Apple chip is for the TestFlight app.
Right, TestFlight will only work on Apple chips, but you can install on an Intel chip manually using the instructions on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension_Testers_Team

I can test if you still need more volunteers.

I regularly use a Mac with Safari and Firefox, and iPhone with Safari, for WikiTree work / editing.

I am also very familiar with WBE (currently using it on Mac and Windows PC's, both with Firefox)

Ah, I see an Apple chip is required on the Mac - mine's an Intel.

I can still do iOS testing on iPhone though...
Thanks Joe, you should receive an invite from TestFlight :)

I'm using a mac. I usually stick to chrome, and I have the WikiTree Browser Extension installed there, but if you need help testing in Safari I can give it a go.

Hi Patrick, if you have an Intel Mac the instructions for installation are here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension_Testers_Team#Manual_Download

If you have an Apple chip Mac let me know and I can send you an invite to TestFlight.

I am a retired software development and verification leader. Worked on early computers (1970s) and then on Boeing & Airbus commercial aircraft and loads of military aircraft.  At one time I was also an Apple //GS developer.  Currently using a 2013 loaded MacPro running macOS Monterey.

I am interested in giving it a test, usually on WikiTree daily.

Thanks Hal! The instructions for installing the test version on older Macs is here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension_Testers_Team#Manual_Download
