When comparing a rejected match, the profiles want to merge [closed]

I am working on these profiles (Dearlove branch) and saw that in the past there had been a rejected match. Interested in seeing if it was the Canadian branch as compared to the South African branch (many of the same first and second names, identical surnames of course), I clicked on the "compare" beneath the rejected match. But it does not compare, it wants to merge immediately. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

I have the same experience when I visit that page. sad

Definitely a bug!

It must be fixed - it went to compare screen when I just tried it.

No it is not fixed. It still says: Dearlove-30 was created before Dearlove-296. Therefore, please click here to reverse the direction of the compare. [more information]

Matching and Merging Profiles

Yes it does, so you click to reverse the direction and open the compare screen.  Not a bug, just the way it works.  Used to go to compare then tell us to reverse direction, but now we must do the swap first.

If you don't want to complete the merge, just exit from the compare screen
Thanks Patricia, this worked.

Just reverse the direction - and it will compare. If you dont like it, you still can exit at this juncture
