What is this symbol in the Norwegian birth records? [closed]

Hello -

Can somebody tell me what this symbol is in the Norwegian birth records?

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20060307020078

Lines 38, 44, 46, 48, 49, 51, 53, and 64.
It always seems to appear as "[male name] og [symbol]", which seems to imply "and wife", but then I would expect it to be an "h" for "hustro" or "k" for "kone".

Thanks

It is clearly an "h" for "hustru". I'm not entirely certain if it's really a capital Gothic "H" or a small "h", but personally I always transcribe it as an "h".

Thanks for the quick & helpful reply, Leif.
By the way, you should always tag questions about Norway and Norwegians with the tag "Norway", which will draw the attention of a lot of Norwegian genealogists.
