G2G: When is NOW?

Since profiles often don't get updated for years, the use of the term NOW is ambiguous.

For example, "the house location was an empty lot in 2022" will make more sense in twenty years than "the house location is now an empty lot" as was written this month.

I have noticed some people don't appear to realise they are crossing their tenses.
Usually, if I make a statement that could be "time stamped", I add a parenthetical statement saying something along the lines of "as of this date/year".

The passing of time does change one's perspective and locations!   The most interesting documentation I made in relation to time was about a James Dinsmore, I found an 1898 newspaper article mentioning him. It reported, he died in Braidwood, Illinois in a mining accident which occurred "long ago". How's that for pinpointing an event?

Yes, it is good to remember to add dates for current events! Thanks for the reminder Judy.
