Theory 1: Son of George "All" Sizemore-1198 and Agnes (possibly Shepherd):

For:

John Rockhouse Sizemore was found in the same area of Kentucky that George and Agnes lived in, namely what became Hyden, in what is now Leslie County. (I believe it was Clay County prior to 1878.)

Against:

yDNA results for a descendant of John's presumed son, Wilkerson, match those of descendants of John "Gourd" Sizemore.[citation needed]

This is strong evidence that Wilkerson's presumed father, John Rockhouse Sizemore, was not the son of George "All" Sizemore, but the son of this George Sizemore, a brother of John "Gourd" Sizemore OR that Wilkerson Sizemore was not the son of John Rockhouse Sizemore.

The problem with this theory is that birth estimates of the alternative father and son are only three years apart.

Thanks, Linda, for sharing your notes.

Unfortunately, the Find-a-Grave memorial provides no source or explanation for why the memorial-keeper believes John Rockhouse Sizemore was son of George and Agnes. It's possible-- we'd just like to confirm it.  I'm also worried that the DNA evidence shared above works against that theory .
