In principle your family tree, and Sir Robert’s, has to be built back far enough, and in sufficient detail, to show an intersection.

This could mean a lot of work on your part.

If there is a relationship, it may be through a family other than the Peel family.

Matthew, however, raises very good points in his answer, especially in the last sentence.

A very quick search suggests that John's grandfather was Thomas Peel, b. 1820, a wheelwright, so you're probably not related to Sir Robert.

But what does that matter? You have four grandparents, eight great-grandparents, sixteen great-great-grandparents etc. Isn't it a more interesting project to try and find out who they all were? Your family tree might intersect with unexpected famous people if you research it.
