G2G: Can you add options at GEDCompare to more narrowly match names?

I'm still sifting my way through thousands of potential matches, but literally 2/3 of them are completely false. Is it possible to have GEDCompare give us options to narrow the work down. My surname is Kelty, there will NEVER be a "Kelly" that matches it, I do not want "sounds vaguely like". All of my records use Maiden Name as last name, there will NEVER be a case where I want to test Surnames that do not match. "MacDowell" is NOT "MacDougall". Only 4800 more matches to go :(

It seems like there should be an option "only exact matches" for surnames. If the genealogist has the proper citations for the surname they should be allowed to not look at long lists of profiles with different, but somewhat close, names.

Exactly my point! laugh

Compare: There are 4767 suggested matches to consider. Rejected matches: 1134. Confirmed matches: 787.

That would likely be a good option to have since the second step in the new create process is to show all the potential matches again.

In relationship to this, because the work required, it is strongly recommended that uploads should be very small, like a 100 at a time.

A noble concept (small batches), but sadly, Ancestry only has export all. I already had to trim out out the near cousins everywhere to just limit it to my direct lineage

You might consider importing into an offline genealogy program that will allow you to export specific branches. Maybe others have recommendations for such a program. I believe I've seen people recommend Gramps.
