In 1767, Andreas Christoffen Lind left from Enkhuizen in Holland on the ship Duivenbrug, and was left off sick at the Cape of Good Hope hospital, and continued working there, with records continuing over an unusually large number of 5 Folios in the VOC administration (from Nationaal Archief, den Haag).
Who can read this handwriting? It seems that Andreas payed amounts for certain unclear services, that were possibly sent to Holland. Or was he trading things? For anybody with the ability to read this 18th century handwriting, this should be a little goldmine of interesting facts, about Andreas, or about practices at the Cape, or the VOC.
