Jacques Marquette (1637-1675) and Louis (Joliet) Jolliet (1645-1700) began their exploration of the Mississippi River on June 17, 1673. I'm not a descendant of the latter as far as I know, but he did marry an ancestor's first cousin. Marquette isn't yet connected.
