Louisiana...John McGinty and Mary Barker

My name is Kathleen Ann Schmidt (maiden McGintey).  I am looking for the parents of my GGGGrandfather & GGGGrandMother.  John Mcginty b.1842 Mary Barker b.1855. Married 1870 in Point Coupee, Louisiana.  Residence in Avoyeles Parish, Louisiana. His last name is spelled McGenty on his marriage license and McGannity on one of the census.  It says he was born in Ireland and she in NC.  If you can help in any way we would appreciate it!

John (Johnny in one census) McGinty and Emma Hereford ....son of

John McGinty (McGenty on marriage license, Magannity on a census) and Mary Barker

Since we cannot get a document showing who were John McGinty and Mary Barker's parents are, we are stuck in LA.  Soooo frustrating!

We know without a doubt all we have up to their parents is correct.
