How to split a GEDCOM from geni.com?

My geni.com GEDCOM is too large. I'm new and still learning the ropes. While I like Geni.com - I stopped entering my family info there and would like to merge all of my research (from typed and handwritten geneology papers given to me from my (now deceased) grandparents). However, my GEDCOM is too large and though I've searched the forum for answers - I've yet to find anything specific to geni.com

Any assistance is greatly appreciated as I'd like to continue my hobby here and connect to the greater family tree!

Thank you in advance!

Take a look at the WikiTree page http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Splitting_a_GEDCOM. That should help.
