A Samuel Ambler was buried 31 May 1598 at St. Botolph Aldgate, London, England. His father was William Ambler.

Unfortunately without any additional evidence I think London, England is a bit too far of the mark from Yorkshire, but thanks for looking.

There was also a Will. Ambler buried at the same burial place on 18 Aug 1716, also the son of Sam. Ambler.

My family's name was Ambler and I have a family tree dating back to a William Aumbler (spelt with a u at that time) who was born in 1590 at Whitkirk. May be worth trying the different spelling. The two following generations were also spelt with the u but in the late 1600s the u was dropped from the name. Hope this helps.
