MY DNA SAIDS THAT MY DISTANCE RELATIVE IS JOHN TOWNSEND, BORN AROUND  1785,  THAT HE COMES FROM THE MARTIN TOWNSEND FAMILY, WATERTOWN MASS.WHAT RELATIONSHIP THEY ARE TO ME I DON'T KNOW YET.SO I'M LOOKING FOR ANYONE WHO MIGHT KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THEM,     WHAT I'M HOPING TO FINE IS WHEATHER JOHN TOWNSENDS SON IS THE FATHER OF JAMES TOWNSEND BORN IN 1827 . JAMES IS MY 2ND GREAT GRAND FATHER.AN I'M HOPING JOHN  IS MY 4TH.THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE ME,     MIKE

There are a number of Y-dna direct lineal decendants of Martin of Watertown on Familytreedna.com. Also, the Townsend family dna project has a listing of Martin of Watertown's genetic descendants. It appears that many of Martin' G2a haplogroup descendants are not related to other Townsends.
