Hi,

He married Emma Corner in the 4th Qtr of 1860 in the district of BRIDGWATER, Somerset.

I cannot find them in the 1861, 1871 and 1881 censuses.

In the 1841 census there is a Wiliam Knapton in the registration area of Wincanton, Somerset:

Name Gender Age   Birth Place
Samuel Knapton M 53   Somerset
Martha Knapton F 41   Somerset
Hannah Knapton F 15   Somerset
Oliver Knapton M 12   Somerset
Charles Knapton M 10   Somerset
William Knapton M 8   Somerset
Meshach Knapton M 6   Somerset
Mary Knapton F 2   Somerset
Lot Knapton M 0   Somerset

In the 1841 census there is an Emma Corner in the registration area of Taunton, Somerset:

Name Gender Age   Birth Place
Thomas Corner M 35   Somerset
Sarah Corner F 35   Somerset
Alfred Corner M 10   Somerset
Mary Corner F 8   Somerset
Emma Corner F 6   Somerset

Hope this is of some assistance.

There was a William Henry Knapton who was baptised 1 Aug 1841 at Nunney, Somerset, England. His father was William Knapton and his mother was Charlotte. He would have been the right age to marry in 1860.

Do you have any other information about William Knapton, such as the name of the bride and when and where he was born? Would you have the names of parents and or children and their approximate years of birth?

This is a very complicated family. The GRO says William Knapton married Emma Corner. In 1861 they lived in Nether Stowey. William was a mason from Halifax in Yorks. Hannah Vallis was born in Nether Stowey in 1839. She (named Anna) married Thopmas Corner in 1856. They had 2 children, Caroline (born Cardiff) and Ellen (born Nether Stowey). I can't find Thomas' death.

In 1861 William has wife Ann and the two Corner children in Nether Stowey.

In 1871 Garoline is living with her grandfather Henry Vallis. Ellen is in an orphanage in Gloucester.

I can't find definite deaths for William or Anna.

Hope that helps. Good Luck.
