Looking for information on Frederic(k) John Walsh, born 1920 in South Africa (either in Wynberg or Lydenberg). Especially - but not only - interested in his parents information, his birth details, and his marriage to Doreen (Forbes-)Harding etc.

He also lived in South West Africa for a while (and died in Walvis Bay, SWA).

Known details -

  • Birth date: 13 June 1920
  • Death date:  25 August 1960
  • And I also have his military records (with bad handwriting)

Thank you in advance for any help smiley

Thanks Chris for your help! Unfortunately that is not him as he was married to my grandmother Doreen Forbes-Harding (the date and place supposedly being 3 May 1947 in South West Africa) - I can not confirm as my grandmother died 6 years.

Thanks again. The search continues smiley

I wonder if his father came from Ontario?

Hmm, we always assumed that he was of British or Irish desecent. I will definately look into this thank you.

From the minimal information I have, I know he was born in 1920 in South Africa so they might have moved between this publication date and his birth.

It also possible that his mother was a single parent or widower as she signed on his military enlistment forms (but for the life of me I cannot make out what her name is from the forms).

I will look into this - I hope I can find something, or something else might come up in my search.

Thank you  again for your help Chris.

I looked into these records - unfortunately not the one. He does have a son named Frederick too, but middle name does not match.
