Is there an English guide to how to read the entries in Tanguay?

DICTIONNAIRE GENEALOGIQUE DES FAMILLES CANADIENNES by Fr. Cyprien Tanguay

Is online - http://www.genealogie.org/tanguay/ For a critique and how to read Tanguay see Michigan’s Habitant Heritage, v.4 #3 (Jul 1983), pp.60-63, published by the French-Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan.

I tried the link to the Dictionnary and it did not work.
there's no guide in French either really, it's divided into parts by years and then by alphabet, the link guy gave is the best one, since it is the Library and Archives of the province, not likely to disappear any time soon.  Basic data is the year of marriage, then name of husband with (xxx listing father if known, numbering them to refer to prior entries.  Then spouse's name, then data on any children.

Hi group:

This is generally how I add sources or citations for reference to Tanguay. It satisfies most, if not all of the requirements of the citation elements for the BCG. "Genenealogy Standards - 50th. Anniversary Edition", Board for Certification of Genealogists, Washington, D.C. 2014. Published by Ancestry.com.  ISBN 978-1-630- 26018-7 (paper). www.BCGcertification.org Chapter 2, Part 5 Citation Elements, pages 7-8.  Ok. that was the book I use for my citation standards. Here is how I apply it to Tanguay's work:

Dictionnaire généalogique des familles canadiennes per l’Abbé Cyprien Tanguay. http://bibnum2.banq.qc.ca/bna/dicoGenealogie/   Vol. No. Page No. Who, What, When.

Not as far as I know but I can make one though, should be available in a day or two unless someone has done it already.

That would be a great thing to do. I've figured out the basics but some things are still a mystery; such as at the end of the first line of an entry is something like [LOUIS 1

I have no idea what that relates to.
It refers to his father's first name. Thanks to Claude.
