The Roper family was from a village just south of Hameln, Germany called Ohr.  Across the road was the village of Selxen, and this is where the Heinemann family was from that emigrated to the Palatine, IL area.  Please take a look at my family tree on Ancestry.com (DayFamily04) for more details.  Best wishes, your very distant cousin, Lynne Day Denig

Lynne.  How am I related to you?  Caroline is my great great grandmother. Her daughter Amanda Stoll Biester was my great grandmother. Both maternal side of my family.

Ruth Hitt Thomas

Ruth, Caroline Heinemann is listed in Ancestry.com as my 3rd great-grand aunt.  In looking for more details on the Heinemann family, I see that several of them left Palatine, IL and moved to Iowa: Caroline's siblings Fred, Augusta, and William, and Caroline's parents, Georg "Friedrich" Heinrich Wilhelm Heinemann and Wilhelmine (apparently middle name Friederike) Daniels.
