Hello! I am descended from Philura Sherman nee Welch. She was the wife of John Sherman and lived from abt 1798 - 1865. She was likely the daughter of Constant Welch (1755 - 1830) and Lucy Harlow (1755 - 1816).
I know there is a book entitled "Descendants of James Welch, Soldier in King Philip's War, 1675-76" by Charles B. Welch. There is, however, also another Welch descendant who claims that this book is wrong! He refers to the Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Vol Five. which contradicts the text by Charles Welch. Do you know who is correct?
