Why does the weekend count for 48 hours when allocating bagdes?

I'm not a leader (already saw this question) but try and encourage as well as acknowledge when I see that it is appropriate to do so. Now I gave the family badge (I think it was) to someone on Friday morning. So strictly speaking I should be able to do so again on Saturday morning. But no, to no avail. Got the message that I was only allowed allocation of a bagde once every 24 hours. The same thing on Sunday. Only today - Monday - I managed to give someone the Generous Genealogist badge.

This isn't the first time this has happened. It seems that while we WikiTreers are 24/7, some aspects of WikiTree are 24/5 ....

Comparing your experience with Patt Roche's in her G2G inquiry on March 27, I infer the WikiTree clock begins at midnight. Thus the badge can only be awarded every other day.

 

March 27 was Friday this year, Thursday last year, Wednesday the previous year, so it is most probable Patt tried to award the badge on a weekday. We could confirm that conjecture by viewing her contributions log, but her per day contributions are so numerous it is not a desirable endeavor.

I saw the answer of Chris to her G2G inquiry, yet (though she stated that it worked) cannot see how emptying my browser cache can influence the amount of (WikiTree) hours in a day. I mean, since July 1st the atomic clock was onlyb set back 1 second because of the earth's slower rotation around it's own axle ... not added an extra 24 hours ...

It remains to be seen if he meant to imply the 24 hour limit was not supported within all zones.

As you initially said and maintain, there is something about WikiTree and time zones that, in your experience, appears to be inconsistent with our reasonable expectation. If such an anomaly exists, might it influence anyone's monthly contributions count?

I'm not really following ... like in a time-space anomaly? - something like Heisenbergh's uncertainty principle or more like the observer effect ? ... where is that "fixed" point where a time zone passes through and when I look at it does it instantly disappear ...?
