PARENTS OF JAMES KNIGHT MARRIED TO NANCY MITCHELL KNIGHT

Seeking parents of James Knight, born Jan 1858/59 in Illinois, that married Nancy Jane Mitchell Knight. James Knights father was born in Pennsylvania, mother was born in Arkansas.

There were a fair number of men named James Knight born in IL in 1858 or 1859. Would you happen to know what city and or county?

There was a Nancy Jane Mitchell who was born in 1864 in IL per the 1880 US Census. Her parents are S. P. Mitchell 43y born OH and Amanda 40y born IN. The census was taken at Big Creek, Neosho, KS. All five of Nancy Jane Mitchell's younger siblings were born in KS.

The Nancy Jane Mitchell I referred to was born in Tennessee, Dec. 1858 she married James KNIGHT, born in Illinois, Jan. 1858. They mainly resided in Indian Territory and remained there when it bacame Oklahoma. I am trying to locate the parents of James KNIGHT but have hit a dead end after finding James & Nancy. This info was found on the 1900 Choctaw Indian Nation Territory Census.  James & Nancy had 7 children living at home at that time..they were Emma, Lula, Lilly, Minnie, James, Joseph and Mattie.  The census also showed James Knight father was born in Pennsylvania & his mother born in Arkansas.

Parents appear to be Dennis and Susan Knigh.  The 1860 Census is by individual rather than family, you have to open each one to see the details.  The 1870 census has some siblings as well.
