Would like a look up in The Harbours in America (1982, by Lewis Williams and William Ross) for Lucy Witt. This book was the original source of Lucy's marriage to Benjamin Carpenter (which would have occurred around 1782-1785 in Amherst County, Virginia). I'd like to know if they named their source or gave any caveats for the marriage.
Lucy was the daughter of John and Lucy Witt. John died 1782 in Amherst County and named daughter Lucy in his 1781 will in which she was still single.
