How do I get a free space page to show up on the county page properly?

When I checked the Vermont county category page, the St. Mary's cemetery I recently set up appears as a profile page instead of a sub-category.  How do I correct this?

Hi Carolyn,

The best response I can give is that you don't!

Pages are pages and categories are categories.  The only kind of thing that can be a sub-category is another category.  To WikiTree, free space pages are no different than profile pages.

I believe that, the way the cemetery project is set up, there should be two pages for each cemetery - a category page AND a free space page.  The category page is the one that shows up as a subcategory on the county page.

Am I making sense????  If not, someone please translate for me - THANX

Gaile, I don't understand. I also have a category page for the cemetery, so why doesn't it show up under sub-category?

On the category page for the cemetery, you need to put the tag

[[Category:Franklin County, Vermont, Cemeteries]]

That will make the cemetery category show up as a subcategory on the Franklin County, Vermont, Cemeteries category page.

When you put the category tag above on the free space page, it makes the free space page show up as a page on the Franklin County, Vermont, Cemeteries category page.

I feel like I'm still not saying it clearly enough - is this any better?

Yay! Thanks, Gaile. I added the code and it appears under subcategory now.
THANX for letting me know - I'm so glad you were able to figure out what I'm trying to say.  I've never felt so tongue-tied in all my life.  I'm sorry I wasn't able to explain it better!!!
You must have done something right. I was able to follow your instructions. Thanks again, Gaile.

Carolyn,

One added note - there is actually no reason to have the Free Space show in the county cemetery category.  All the is needed is to have the Free Space in the cemetery category and that is done exactly like a profile - add the Category line at the top of the page.

As the cemetery category page is on the county page and is also on the location page only one category line is needed in the Free Space.

Thanks, Phillip.   Appreciate  the advice.

I wish someone in the know would do a specific outline of the steps to setting up the cemetery free space and the category pages with the codes needed on each . Every time I think I finally have it right, someone tells me something different, and I have to go back through making corrections.  Hint! Hint!
