Edward Carlton b. 1807, d. 1836 GA. and DNA connection to Rose family of VA.

Question

Trying to find the parents of:  Edward Carlton (born Abt. 1807) m. Susan Bowling(Bolling), daughter of John Bolling, Jr. and Susannah Bell Bolling, 28th January 1831, Lexington, Oglethorpe County, Georgia.  They moved to Coweta County, Georgia where he died September 6, 1836 leaving 4 children and wife.  No Will, Estate Sold.  Other Carltons in the County at that time wereThomas W., George, John, Ethelbert (son of Thomas)  Cannot pin down a relationship in either GA, NC, or VA.  To muddy the water a little more - my husband,  James Edward Carlton, is DNA connected to William Rose, 1650 in Surry County, VA.   His dna is at familytreedna under kit#344803 - Y-67, FF, and ordered Y-111 and Maternal.  He is also matching Carlton Group and Rose Group.

Any help will be appreciated.  Did a Rose become a Carlton somewhere along the way?
