Help with a very old book. I was searching through a box left to me by my late grandfather.  In it I found a very old book c.1777 entitled "observations on a variety of subjects " written by Jacob Duche,  a minister who gave the opening prayer at the First Continental congress.

It is covered with signafures..some I can make out. The first signature on title page is Olive Lilly. The most prominent is that of an Elizabeth  Bullock.  Jemima Bullock,  John Abbot and a member of the davis family. Was,just trying to get any information on how all these names tie together..e en if they do. Thanks in advance  James " Jed " Hohlfeld  jedandpatti@gmail.com

I am being quite trusting here, but if email could end up in spam. Text me at 8133106227

David W Bullock married a Mary Abbott (who could have been related to your John Abbott).  Their first child was a daughter named Elizabeth Bullock.  This would have been around 1814 in Louisa Virginia.

Jed: The book you can buy on Amazon. It seems to  cost more $2 used than new.  As for the signatures, it could have just been friends, church group or something like that.  Sorry I have nothing else for you.
