Is it possible to upload a pdf file (other than as an image)?

I am creating a free space page about a publication in the Journal of Genetics about inherited eyesight impairments in my family. I have created a summary of information of most interest to genealogists and would like to load it for people to read as a pdf.

Hi Chris,
Although uploaded as an image, it's still a PDF. Anyone could open it and read it as normal.
