He is my grandfather's brother. He was an accountant for the USA government. I believe that it was appointment by the Secretary of State. He was essentially self taught. He attended a public school in Baltimore then attended a private school McDonough (sp). It was a school for children with only one parent. His father, William E Link, and mother, Anna Bennett were divorced in 1898-99. George remarried a Russian opera singer. He had a daughter by his first marriage. His brother, my grandfather, William Everett Link, was also interesting in a way. He was AWOL from a ship going abroad. He received a discharge which slightly better than "dishonorable". The discharge was signed by Nimitz. He had a good record and repeated enlistments up until this point. We believe that his marriage was in trouble and that he was trying to keep it together.
