Does a profile have to be approved before adding to the Notables Project?

I adopted the profile for James Garner and have been working on it. I would like to add it to the Notables Project, but I am not sure if it has to be approved first.
WikiTree profile: James Garner

That is a wonderful profile Amy, but I'm not sure that   James (Bumgarner) Garner's has enough accomplishments to be a Notable. Just kidding! What a guy, he's definitely deserving of the Notables tag.

Hi Amy,

I believe that James Garner belongs in the Notables, but you can check the Notables Project Page and contact one of the project leaders to ask them to take him in.

It looks like you're doing a superlative job on his profile!

Thank you Gaile,

I removeed the Notables category, because it is redundant, since he has the more narrow Famous Actors of the 20th Century category, which is a subcategory of Notables.

The Notables template is good to stay on this profile. The general guideline that I follow is that it should get a Notables template if it has already been connected to the AJ tree.

If it has not yet been connected to that big tree, then the template to use is {{Notables Unconnected|name=James}}

That template will also provide a category, which alerts people in the project that the intervening connections need to be made.

Thank you for clarifying the criteria for me.

I did check his connection to AJ. The connection shows 26 degrees of separation, but I was unable to find the template to indicate that on his profile.

Is the template still being used, and if so, should I add it to his profile?

Thanks for your help.

Amy
Hi Amy, the Notables template is already there, so I would say that it is complete.

Sometimes now we can put the steps from AJ template box as well, just to make it more clear, but I am not sure how, of even if it is really important. But if so, from comments that I have read it should probably go at the very bottom, since the reunion is over.

But I would be happy with the Notables template just as it is. I loved James Garner. His early 1970s gunfighter movies were fun.And Rockford of course.

Oh, that's great, I just noticed that they are now including Notables Project WikiTree as manager on this. So they can track changes to the Notables profiles, by whoever monitors that account. Good idea, but there are a ton of them.
Thank you!
