I have notice that some Guest are being added as profile managers to established profiles, shouldn't they Volunteer first?

How about family members who do not volunteer?  Should they be added as Profile Managers or just put on trusted list?

I didn't think that the system would let Guests be added as a Profile Manager even if it was their own profile. (Without thinking, I tried adding my son asa co-manager right after I'd made his profile. Ping…the system wouldn't let it happen.)

And I agree…IMHO, pledging and and a Genealogist badge should be a prerequisite. Too much potential for trolling or other hanky-panky without *some* verification of the manager's status.

In my opinion, if a person cannot be bothered to join the site, then they should have a 'view' option only. The idea of WT, is to have ONE tree, as fully sourced as possible, with no duplicates, and with every member striving to this end. We sign the honour code for this reason. If an anonymous person is allowed edit access to records, then anything can happen, and the quality of information will then become suspect.

In a totally worse case senario, we could end up with Barack Obama, married to Hilary Clinton, and giving birth to William Shakespeare. (Joke)
