Asa was in 1790 US census with 3 females (wife & 2 daughters?).  Next appears in Kingston, Ont. 1807 on land petition.  He advertised he was not responsible for Charlotte Reed's debts in local paper in 1811, US wife? Kicked out of the Freemasons for not supporting her.  Next he marries Deiadamia Story in 1814, same day as daughter Mary's baptism.  She leaves him 6 mths later.  About 1820 he marries Margaret Wilson & has about 9 kids, he's among the 1st doctors in Richmond Hill, Ont.  A couple of their grandkids are found in US census in Ruby, St. Clair Michigan.  Must be a connection, where?  Thanks from Vancouver, BC.

Kids were asa henry reid 1822 to1857, m. Anne jane atcheson, Jane 1825 to 1864, m. Joshua atkinson, wm. B. 1823, george b. 1828 m. Caroline walton, louisa b. 1829, theodore b. 1831 to 1911, m. June ellen stockdale ( my ancestor), mary b. 1831, charles b. 1833, elizabeth alice b. 1833 m. 1913 to ross bennell mason, alex b. 1835, lafayette b. 1838, m. Mary davis 1865, margaret alice b. 1841 to 1895, m. 1864 to jacob henry belfry.
Dr Asa F. Reid was my 3rd g grandfather via his daughter Lucy b. 14 feb 1840 in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada; died  1 May 1917 La, US.  She married Rev. George Lawrence in Ingersol, Ontario.  Both Lucy and her sister Jane (1825 - 1874) were baptized in the 1840s (a tad late ???).  Perhaps Asa decided to clean up his life by then....  The only record I can find of his birth is that which is on his headstone... but given what a scoundrel he appears to have been (when he married Deidamia Story in Kingston after living with her and getting in trouble with the Freemasons, the notice of the marriage says he was from Augusta - presumably in Ontario a bit North of Kingston) one can only guess where he was really born...  Not at all sure his presumed final wife Margaret was aware of his previous two wives, and given that at the time a divorce in Canada required the passing of an Act of Parliament, I have my doubts over whether he bothered to be 'official' about getting unhitched... (esp since when he was living with Deaidamia Story in Kingston he took out ads saying he was not responsible for any financial debts of 'Charlotte' Reid (the presumed first wife from the US).
