If you go to www.familysearch.org and put in different information like just put in his name date of birth. Then put in his name, click parents.

I put in his name and clicked residence Australia.
Thanks for your reply Chris.  I have pretty much exhausted FamilySearch records trying to find John Jones' parents.  My initial WikiTree question was: "I am seeking information prior to 1852 in relation to my Great Great Grandparents David JONES b. 20 July (unknown year between 1824 and 1828) in Cardigan, Wales and Mary DAVIES b. 28 March 1832 in Carmarthen, Wales and married on 21 May 1852 in Tredegar, Monmouthshire, Wales.  Their firstborn son, John JONES (my Great Grandfather) b. 4 March 1853 in Ebbw Vale, Monmouth and three further siblings Mary Ann JONES b. 2 April 1856, Elizabeth JONES b. 21 September 1858 and Thomas JONES b. 21 December 1860.  The family migrated to Australia on the ship "Persia" on 16 August 1861. I have reliable records after 1852 but I am unable to discover accurate information about David JONES, Mary DAVIES  or their ancestors prior to this time."

I am wanting to find my Great Great Grandparents David Jones and Mary Davies but I have had no success through FamilySearch or WikiTree.  Any advice you may have would be appreciated.  Thanks  Des

Thank you for your prompt answer but it is a different John Jones.  My Great Grandfather John Jones migrated to Australia in 1861 and died in 1936 in Mount Morgan, Queensland, Australia.  His parents were David Jones and Mary Davies who also migrated to Australia in 1861.  I had previously asked for information on John's parents but have yet received no response.  Thank you for your input.  Des Jones

John was the son of Job Jones & Sarah Francis. The couple married 1841 (Merthyr Tydfil 26/687 q June 1841).

From probate records, Job's death is recorded as 4 January 1901, Ebbw Vale.

Sarah is noted in the 1861 Census, born c1819, Merthyr Tydfil and Job is recorded as a widower in 1871. There are a number of records that would fit Sarah's profile.
