How do I find great grandparents that were born in Palanka Backa

+3 votes
My great grandparents Johann and Katharina (Knabl) Strischek came from Palanka Backa Hungary he was born in 1870 and she was born in 1872. I can find them in the U.S. but are unable to find them overseas. His parents are Johann Strischek and Elisabeth Pfuhl. We think her's are Mattias and Rosella. Also looking for their niece Kothe Till from Hartberg, Austria.

Thank you

Are their profiles up at WikiTree ? I was looking for them so I  could post some information for you. I will post them on the profiles for you as sources. Bácspalánka (also known as Németpalánka because of the large ethnic German settlements) is now called Bačka Palanka is now in Serbia.

Registry books from before 1900 were kept in the Archives in Novi Sad. Recently a new law came out about these documents to be returned to churches. The civil registry has books from 1900 and are easily obtainable, though only by knowing the date of birth.
