How do I find out maiden name of my great grand mother Laura Moore?

Question

I have some basic information on my great grandmother, Laura Moore.  She was born around 1870.  I have looked on familysearch.org. They only information I am able to find out is her residence with her husband and children.   I am not sure how to proceed?

You need any of the following that you might know of from the records that you have found in addition to her approx dob.

Location - Country, city/town of b, m, d.

Names of any siblings, spouses, children, parents etc that you know.

Death certificates usually state the name of mother and father.  Birth records of Laura Moore, for example, will show her mother by maiden name.  These are two valuable documents in finding your ancestor's birth mother.

At your local library they should have census records.  If you know the state and county where she was born, start checking the censuses from 1870 on.  There will probably be no census records in 1890. Almost all of them were destroyed in a fire.

Check the recorder's office in the county where she died.  They may have probate or a will for her.  Also, if there is a Mormon temple close by to where you live, go to their family history center.  They are friendly and willing to help you.

If you will do a Google Chrome search for Laura Moore, 1870, you will find quite a few Laura moores...If you have more info on her, list that also in your search.  I have found lots of info by just doing a web search with the info I have.   Good Luck!

Some more information to search with would be helpful. 

I did find some indo on an Aron Moore, double check that the info you have posted iscorrect. Not sure that is going to help you because it does not match the current info you have posted.
