Did Samuel Watkins (s/o Wm & Keziah) marry a Mary "Polly" Whitman who could be known also as Gregory?

My gggg grandfather was Samuel Watkins who, according to some records, married a Mary "Polly" Whitman.  Others say he married Mary Gregory.  Do you have a Mary Whitman who perhaps meets both categories through marriage to a Whitman and/or Gregory?  I believe Samuel's parents were probably William Watkins & Keziah Snead Watkins. I am a descendent of Washington William Watkins, Samuel's son.

I actuallly just found this branch of the Watkins family yesterday while comparing researh on the various sites.  William, of course, is a common name, I see two Samuels in my tree, but Keziah is pretty unusual.  I see her (1732-1800) married to a William (1730-1789) in my tree with both a son and grandson named Samuel.  I have ignored most of the siblings on my Ancestry.com site in order to keep my tree "pruned", but probably some of the hints could show this.  I am also comparing with the FamilySearch.org site to try and stay as accurate as possible.

If you have not resolved this one and would like to contact me, I will send you whatever I have and can do a bit more looking at the census records.

Do you have a time frame and location for birth year, marriage year, death year for Samuel Watkins? Approximate or exact date of each evert and city, county and country could really help sleuth out an answer.

Thanks for your quick response.

I can trace with evidence from me to Washington William Watkins, (could have been William Wasington Watkins) born 1804 in KY and died 16 Mar 1865 in Lyon Co. KY. He was called "Wash."  His father was a Samuel Watkins that I think was born in VA.

Overlapping family trees on Ancestry.com indicate that this Samuel married a Mary Gregory (or Whitman, or McClure) from NC and that he moved to KY, then to TN for a while and back to KY.

I've researched many other Samuels born about that time and can't make a firm connection.  I noticed one Samuel, the son of William and Keziah Watkins was born in VA and his family then moved to NC where Mary Gregory was supposed to be from.  I thought he may have grown up in NC, married her there and then moved to KY.

I know it is a round-about way of thinking but I'm stumped.

Siblings of "Wash" (children of Samuel and Mary) are: Maria, John W, Thomas G, Lucinda, Mary W and Malinda Watkins. I've found many stories about these siblings but no one seems to know where Mary or Samuel came from.

I noticed after posting the first time that there was a Mary Vaugn Whitman who married a John T. Gregory in TN, dau of Edward Whitman & Susan Vaugh. There is also a Mary Gregory in NC who is dau of Josephine Forbes and Thomas Gregory.  And there are many, many Samuels, as well.

I hope something rings a bell.  Thanks for your help.
