There is an Ancestral File that shows Jon De Purvaince born 1570 in Scotland, and died about 1620 in Royan, Saintonge, France.
His son was born about 1590 had the same name and he died about 1630.
Other children were Jacques born 1620, died 1697; Lewis b. 1630; Saul b. 1630 d. 1680; and Jacques b. 1644. I don't know why two sons would have the same name, Jacques.
