"Lost" the JPG-file

I uploaded a scan successfully a while ago, but recently it no longer appears when the thumbnail of it is clicked: see also http://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Von_Holtz-6.

The size there also is now set to "x pixels" without further detail. Can this be recovered, or should I just upload it again? (The thumbnail version is still correct.)

I don't see a solution or an explanation of why this has happened. Your "lost" photo is here: http://www.wikitree.com/photo.php/7/7b/Holtz-282-1.jpg, so it is not really lost. It is just disconnected for some unknown reason.

Another interesting problem is that this G2G question does not appear on the WikiTree profile Von_Holtz-6, even though you did attach it properly.

The profile is a result of two merged profiles (von Holtz-6 into Holtz-282). This should not be a problem, but maybe WikiTree is having problems because of the similar names.

That is most curious. I finally did unlink the original scan from the persons mentioned and then uploaded it again. But this time, the problem occurred from the start: see http://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Holtz-282-1 where the thumbnail is there, but the picture itself not.

Your link http://www.wikitree.com/photo.php/7/7b/Holtz-282-1.jpg however does bring up the correct image. But for some reason this link is missing (or incorrect) in the editing page.

You are probably right. It may well have to do with the fact that I had to adjust the surname to just "Holtz" instead of "von Holtz", but this is actually how this person was registered at birth in the church. (In those days, surnames were not rigidly adhered to -  we had to wait for Napoleon to enforce a bit more discipline in this area).

That is curious... I don't see any obvious reason for it to have done that.

Have you tried resizing it a bit smaller? It may be too large?

It is actually smaller than a similar scan (see http://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Von_Holtz-6-1 ) which - for now - appears to be fine. Note that initially the scan did come up OK as well - but is just got "lost" in  the last few days. Perhaps the file got corrupted in the storage, and I may have to upload it once more (and set all the links again ...)
