Me Again,

I am just full of Questions,

I have a retired neighbor who is a history buff.  He knows America History inside and out.  He can talk to you for hours about any part or person in American History.   He knows that I am doing my family ancestry and something occurred to me last night.  His wife went out of state to care for a sick relative and will be gone for awhile so he is all alone.  When she is home he lives on the computer.  I thought I would bring my 5" binder of family history over to him and show him what I have done so far.  This binder is my printed profile pages, profile pages from different sites and source documents I have found, and photos.  He grew up in an orphanage, but he might want to do his wife's family history.  If not he would be awesome at working on some part of the American History section.  He knows it like the back of his hand.  I can not believe all he knows it totally amazes anyone who listens to him.  My question is how do you invite someone to Wikitree?  What if they don't have a family of their own, but just want to work on American History?

I will wait to approach him till I hear from you.

If you can get an email address for him you could make a profile for him including the email address. This will generate an invitation from Wikitree and he would already have his own personal profile which he might find appealing.
Vincent,

Thank you so much.  He was out last night.  I will see if he is around today.

Thanks again.

Hi Taylor and Welcome to WikiTree

That sounds like a great idea, he will surely be interested in what you have done and he can probably tell you what was happening in the world at the time your grandparents and great-grandparents were born.  That should be interesting for you and help you understand them.

Dont assume that because he was raised in an orphanage he has no family history of his own to pursue.  He may know some names, he surely knows the name and location of the orphanage.

I think you can just show him what you have done in paper form and then open up your WikiTree account and show him all about what he can find.  He will likely be very interested.  Good luck

Krista,

Thank you very much for responding so quickly.  He is such a wonderful man and full of such knowledge.  He loves to share his knowledge.

I will walk over and see him tonight.
