Hello Anon,

I am a Dillard descendant and researcher.  I have posted my Dillard limbs to this big ole shared tree starting with (most probably) George Dillard, who died in New Kent County Virginia in 1704.  WikiTree is a great way to connect with others interested in the same lines.

There are a lot of resources for Dillards "out there".  A great way to connect with Dillards from all over the US is through  The Dillard Family Association.   The association meets once a year in Dillard, Rabun County, Georgia in the spring at The Dillard House (Restuarant and Inn on the property of my 5th ggrandfather John Dillard).  The Association also publishes papers presented at the reunion/meeting from recognized Dillard researchers in The Dillard Annual

Hope you join us here on WikiTree to make some great cousin connections!  Like me.

In Colonial America, the name showed up very early in Virgina, and most Dillards in the US are in the South.  In England, the Dillard name originally came from France, and the first Dillards settled in Wiltshire.  Later, large number of Dillards were in Yorkshire, city of London, Staffordshire and Worcestershire. Germany seems to be the likely country of origin. See  https://www.houseofnames.com/dillard-family-crest
