Hi Steven and Welcome to WikiTree

Do you know where you were adopted and where (at least the state) where you were born?  Also your birthdate would be helpful.

Except for knowing you have an older brother and sister, is there any information about them that you know?  Do you know whether they share Hubbard with you?

We like to help, so any other tiny bits of information you have might be helpful.
I was born in Fort Dodge IA on March 10 1967 all that I know about my brother and sister is that he had some kind of disability and she had married a military man

I am going to give you a starting point.  I can't promise anything, but I have a ton of Iowa Hubbards that start with Norman Henry Hubbard b.1864 d.1952  He had several children that also lived in Iowa.

My Ancestry link is:

 http://person.ancestry.com/tree/6458474/person/24671429924/story

Please know that my information there is at the resource gathering point and that I have not cleaned up those sources, but it is a starting point if you want it.

A non Ancestry.com resource for him is here:

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XVDH-FJK

I can't promise that I am not leading you down a bad path.  They are not close relatives, but I followed their line because there were some interesting stories about them.

This is how I am related:

Norman Henry Hubbard (1864 - 1952)
is your great grand uncle

Russell Harvey Hubbard Sr (1824 - 1896)
father of Norman Henry Hubbard

Russell Harvey Hubbard Jr. (1857 - 1935)
son of Russell Harvey Hubbard Sr

Clifford Riley Hubbard (1901 - 1951)
son of Russell Harvey Hubbard Jr.

Meldia Marie Hubbard (1926 - 1975)
daughter of Clifford Riley Hubbard

Anna Marie Faucett
You are the daughter of Meldia Marie Hubbard

I don't know if any of the family retained the hubbard last name although I believe that I am the youngest and had spent time in a foster home my adoption was sealed
Ancestry is doing a $79 promotion of their autosomal DNA test right now. That is the cheapest one, right now. Once you get it, you can upload the results to GEDmatch.com. I'm facing my own adoption issues, and that looks like my best option. I should be just days from getting my results. Ancestry is very slow on results.

I will comb through my Hubbard cousins and see if I have a location that matches. I am waiting on my DNA results. If you have taken a test, we can compare that also. My Hubbard line starts at my grandmother.

Hi Steven,  I suggest that you take a yDNA37 marker test.  This will tell you about your paternal genetic forefathers, so if your father was a Hubbard, you may get matches that will narrow your search to a particular Hubbard line.  Hubbard is a very old name in North America and there must be dozens of Hubbard lines.

If your mother was a Hubbard, the yDNA test will not help your Hubbard search.

    HI Steven,

the hubbards is a long line and well documented/sourced.  One web page you could check out is Hubbard gleanings  (google it) -- a page that used to be run by Coralyn Brown, I don't know if it still is.  She is a good resource.

I have some Hubbard roots from wisconsin that go back to George Hubbard, one of the founders of Hartford,  connecticut.  some of this line went into Story county (one county away from Webster county ).

    good luck and be patient...
