How do I set up a tree for someone else, I have the gedcom file?

Hi Chris How do I/is it possible for me to set up a family tree for someone

Hi Vikki,

There are only 2 things you need to do:

1) upload the gedcom

2) after processing enter the email address of the one you would like to invite into the correct profile so that he or she will receive an invitation

After the person has accepted the invitation he would only be the manager of his own profile. To add him to the other profiles from the gedcom file you can use the Bulk Profile Manager Changes page or the Bulk Trusted List Changes page.

Vikki, I'd recommend Daniel's approach. The other possibility would be to create a new account under your friend's name with her e-mail address. If you have access to her e-mail account you can set up a password and act as if you are her. The advantage of this is that all the history would be in her name. It would be as if she made all the additions and changes instead of you, which might be what you intend. But for obvious reasons that's not generally recommended. And like I said, you'd need access to her e-mail account.
