I found that Hugh Fennell married Margaret Ann Tate July 5, 1893 in Amaranth, Dufferin County, Ontario

it states that he was a widower at the time of his marriage, thus the presumption that he was married before.

Also have that Hugh had a daughter called Mary Elizabeth Fennell born 23 June 1881, so presumably she is by his first wife, hence another reason or assumption that there was a first wife.

Sorry that my question was so short, first time I have used this site.

trying to make a connection to Hiram HUGHSON FENNELL....possible connection to my aunt's mother....1st cousins, but we don't know my aunt's mother's father's name...

confusing I know......

hoping to find some living relatives that might know something about her mother, grandmother and grandfather.

Just in case - the line we are trying to connect to is Mary Christie mother of Caroline Margaret Christie....father unknown born in Manitoba, Canada

Thanks, I googled it and found some more info on the line....

Now have their marriage and the date, and their five children,

Margaret's parent's name and could even add her siblings if I were so inclined.

Thanks for letting me know who the first wife was.

No problem. This is my husbands family.  I have all the children just haven't had a chance to post all.  I don't see a connection to your Christies though.  If I come across something I will let you know.  Happy Valentine's and hunting!

thanks, please keep in mind it is Hiram Hughston Fennell 1905 - 1961 that was the FIRST COUSIN of Caroline Margaret Christie, so possibly his parents...cause I guess it could be either one...was a possible sibling to Caroline's father.

Who is still unknown and we have no names. absolutely NOTHING.

So again, IF there is a whisper that might lead some place, keep us in mind....

You presumably know about Hugh's parents, William and Elizabeth, who emigrated to Canada from Enniscorthy, Wexford, iRELAND around 1830?
