When doing a surname search, is it possible to show if the profile is connected to "The Big Tree"?

Our ultimate aim is to try and connect everyone in one big tree.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have an indication of which profiles are currently connected to "The Big Tree" when doing a search?

The idea being that you could search on the surnames in your tree and see which surnames have profiles currently connected. This could mean that instead of chasing for links down the "McKellen" line, you might be better off looking for the link in the "Wyneken" line.

I don't know if this would be possible or desirable, but you don't know unless you ask :-)

I think that's a great idea, Simon!

Side note: We're close to releasing a tool that will show the profiles on your Watchlist that are unconnected.

Chris, Does your answer imply that some people are actually already connected to The Big Tree?  I thought it might still be an act of logical imagination.
Hi Roberta. Nine million people are connected, when marriages are included. See http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unconnected for more explanation.
