Still new to this. Should I put in census records on sources or focus on vital records? Also when will a profile be updated to say it's been sourced?

I just put in some vital records for a grandparent, but it still says it's unsourced is that normal?

Can you put a link to the profile so we can look at it?

Yes, put in Census records.  All sources matter.
Thanks!
You might add the Find A Grave Memorial Number, so it can be checked without searching.

Also links to the FamilySearch sites.
I used the directions for how to insert links into the text. All the underlined words are links to the sources. I'll go back and put in the memorial number. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Paige,

You added the links perfectly.  I think that what Tom is suggesting is that you list all the information about the source in the citation.  When you use familysearch records for sources, they give you a citation that you can use, which makes it very easy.  I clicked the one for the death certificate and here's what is on the familysearch page under the record::

CITING THIS RECORD

"United States Social Security Death Index," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V3NV-1JM : accessed 7 September 2015), Ora Millard, Jun 1975; citing U.S. Social Security Administration, Death Master File, database (Alexandria, Virginia: National Technical Information Service, ongoing).

Instead of your line citing that record, you could have put an asterisk as the first character on the line (that makes a bullet on the view page) followed by a paste of that citation as follows:

* "United States Social Security Death Index," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V3NV-1JM : accessed 7 September 2015), Ora Millard, Jun 1975; citing U.S. Social Security Administration, Death Master File, database (Alexandria, Virginia: National Technical Information Service, ongoing).

That gives all the information about the source and includes the link to the record.  The statement you have in the sources section could then be put in the biography section, with the source citation supporting that statement.

You're doing a really great job - Welcome to WikiTree!

To remove the "Unsourced" comment, go in to "edit" the bio and at the very top is {{Unsourced}}.  Delete that and it should go away.

Also, yes, use Census records.  Every source is helpful.
