Forte is a common and popular family name in Italy, but you might find the original area researching your Forte's wife's or mother's or husband's family name or if you have a clue which province they are from, you could use this website, which shows surname by city.

The British hotelier family of Fortes originally came from Mortale, Casalaticco in Italy. The founder was born in 1908 https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=nbGcAQAAQBAJ&pg=PA387&lpg=PA387&dq=Rocco+Giovanni+Forte&source=bl&ots=FVzZ6yxA8j&sig=sgRW8SuWgmFr97Kph1TBDr2rKo8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjL1dH29bPKAhWCoxoKHQdxB2UQ6AEITjAJ#v=onepage&q=Rocco%20Giovanni%20Forte&f=false

(I hadn't realised that the family  were such recent 'immigrants' , he wasn't a British citizen until after WW2 but still managed to become a baron. I remember well the holiday treats of  knickerbocker glories and chocolate nut Sundaes from Fortes in the 1950s)

He doesn't seem to have a profile on here.
