Could anyone supply us with a digital image and transcription of a baptismal record of this person: Christoffel (Haesewinkel) Hasewinkel (I think that it is highly likely that this current LNAB is a Dutchification of a German name or patronymic).
WikiTree profile: Christoffel Hasewinkel

Okay. TY Bea :) That lists looks pretty long to me. Luv it. (Seen it before ofc but didn t thougth me able. :p) Okay. Don t know, just making a proposal. As if I look at the list I tend to hit the first of the list.  I m sure some are fighting stoned threes, sometimes new ones looks just different and finding new stuff as we all have our way of research. Some profiles prolly more imp than others. Some harder than others. What about choosing one till five to be prior for two months (like the profile of the week) and we all at dutch-roots sit on them? So we can close some and get on to the nexts? Or is that a crazy idea? I know lol we all want to solve all, or faster than the other. That is a good drive to sit on few. Choose five for  just a longer time than a week or more., and we all try to solve as we re researching others we have prior as well on our own list.

Just consider and ask other leaders at dutch_roots. I think we will make more progress by cooperating. Isn t that the TreeIdea? :)
Other advantage is we can make one threat with all findings for one profile.

For instance I see an account that is one in the region Ron Ton is researching.
Hi Astrid ,

That's my plan exactly ;), so now I'm first adding and adopting profiles with / to the Project acount , this way the Project Profile will be the manager , I'm going to invite you all (members of the project) so you all will receive the feed of the Project profile, just like the feed you now receive for your own profiles, so all members will be able to see if someone is working on a project profile , if there's a merge proposal etc etc. Also the profile of the week and family of the month is something that's going to happen soon. But for now I'm preparing things and working on many things at once , in October I hope to be ready, but you can help if you like , maybe you could already look for some Dutch Pre-1700 or other Dutch families that really need sources etc etc , so I don't have to look for that ,you can just send me the links and when we're ready for it we can start immediately with the family of the month challenge :) Are you a mind reader ??? :P

I m sorry Phillip. I m learning on the  profiles you work on,  so too blond yet to put A and B together but will get there.

No. I m not a mind reader. Just seeing the problems and trying to solve and work efficient. Same at Phillips. I feel I m bothering and helping. Don t like feeling I bother. :) I don t know what he knows and what he had been searching. I want to add........... not to disturbe. We all have our rls too. I m new as I said many times. I m enthousiastic yeh. Love to search in my free time. Iike peeps to use me (:D in a good way lol). And believe others like to work that way too. 300 accounts to search is wonderfull. Even if it gets 300.000. But think the "threeing together" works best.

I m the blonde red headed dutchie here. Biting deep if I like :) Tasted blood at Hasewinkel :D lol  I m reading your message and will bite till I understand fully and think you already got that s how it works......... for me. Okay.......... here we go. You want more pre-1700 profiles that needs sources and you want me to link you the profiles if me find some?

I m sorry Bea but do we have a page like Jan made for Dutch resources for South African resources? The moment I put in a name at my browser of one of the profiles I m getting so many resources. To keep them I posted some here and bookmarked maney. But I think they should be saved somewhere else, reliable or not. You can t handle all. Well you can handle millions lol You re a duizendpoot. I need more time to get around here. Learning fast but still blonde at lots. So me try but not sure I m a big help yet.

Trying to find out if Cooltjens Pleat is same as Colijnsplaat and for some reasons the Zeeuwen forgot to add that to the internet. :/

First here are the South Africa  resources from the Kaap de Goede Hoop project  Philip is leading and coordinating so wonderfull .

And yes if you would like to have a few challenges for the Dutch Roots Project , please find us some unsourced Pre-1700 and or other (younger) families we could use for a Family of the month Project , if you find some (Dutch families that really could use some improvement and sources) just send me the links and we will start a challenge in October if that's ok :)

I added some of my family and felt shy. But it s what you ask for right :D hahaha Get ready. :) Yes me learning lots of Phillip. Okay. Me will check that link and see.

LOL me gonna ask Phillip for the batch.......... is there a blond redheaded dutch batch at the South African one? :D

I m member of many German ahnenforschung sites. As I m searching for my ancestors there for years and just few months I got to my greatgrandparents................ :/  I hate it but I can t get to Braunschweig resources. Mabey Jan can even help on that.

Last for today........ MOOC............. ? Massive open online course  I put the question to Mansell U? The specialist on SA I expect............  Who are both. I m just here for ........ five weeks!!!?

In 1704
het hy grond van Willem Adriaan van der Stel ontvang, en in 1708 het hy 'n vryburger geword en gaan boer. Hy is in 1695 met
Margaretha Michiels getroud. In 1728 het hy gerepatrieer. (Sien C.J.2653: Testamenten, 1727−1731, pp. 91−92; M.O.O.C. 8/2:

Thanks Astrid for all the extra info and links. We as Bea implies have to prioritize and I'm going to close this question now even though we still don't have a German digital image (no harm; once in the future when we find one we can always de-protect the current LNAB and protect the one as can be read on the baptismal record, if it exists). Yes, I did put the question to the specialist. His response: "- I re-checked my own data and see that I had compiled a genealogy showing their 3 children all being married at the Cape and also listing the grandchildren ... I suspect, then, that it was only either the parents who both repatriated in 1728 or maybe just the father ... the source by Dr Hoge (Requesten) needs to be checked out for its actual wording ... it may also be, that the family initially requested permission to `repatriate` or return to Batavia ... were allowed ... or refused ... or even changed their minds ... I know of at least 2 cases where this happened ... Anthonij Jansz: van Bengale & Abraham de Veij ... I suspect the personal costs involved for the voyage out may have prevented their leaving ... Thank you for sharing your insights about this family! Much appreciated [Mansell]"

I replied that it was a team effort. Thanks to you and Bea and others for that!

List of immigrants : HASEWINKEL, Christoffel, Braunschweig, 1686

But no Birth record or digital image yet ;) And for the name and if it is Dutchified, those days the Nederdiets/Low Saxony  was more or less just like English is now,  a World language , so we find a lot of names that don't sound as German or as Norwegian etc as we would expect, a lot sounds Dutchified, but guess it is because of that as well ? And there's a town named Harsewinkel in Germany, it's abt a two hour drive from Braunschweich , so maybe this has something to do with the Last name ? In German I guess it would be pronounced/sound maybe like Hasewinkel ?

Thanks Bea, great stuff! Thanks for the extra information and I didn't know about "Harsewinkel" in Germany ... wow, this makes me very happy ... :-)

Just found us another treasure here ;) , it's not about Christoffel , but if you're interested in the WOC/VOC...it's a must have ! De Opkomst van het Nederlands gezag in Oost -Indie (1595-1610) verzameling van onuitgegeven stukken uit het oud koloniaal archief, uitgegeven en bewerkt door Jhr Mr J.K.J de Jonge deel II

Excellent - thanks again Bea! There's just no stopping you ... Je bent een kanjer! Dank!

Thanks Philip , Hopefully part I is there as well , didn't even check for that, a lot to read eeh ;) It's the Berlin digital library, never expected to find a book like this in Germany :

Digital Staatsbibliothek Berlin with searchengine and many ancient books, so love  ''bumping'' into these kind of sources  :D
