How do I add a second marriage to the same person

I have multiple ancestors who divorced then remarried the same person. Sometimes the marriage was the next in the sequence; other times, the married several other people, the remarried an earlier spouse.

Thanks in advance

You can only enter one marriage between a couple.  Additional marriages have to be with a different spouse.  See this thread for more information. http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/179356/the-same-couple-can-only-get-married-once-the-profile-header

Thanks Dale. That confirms what I was seeing happening and thought I was doing something wrong.

Debi, double check me on this. You should be able to add marriage #1 with date of marriage and date of termination of marriage. (Death, divorce) Then add number #2 marriage using the same procedure. Then #3 marriage (if even to the same person) with date of marriage and possibly death/divorce which terminated the marriage.  On down through the spouses, although I wouldn't add termination date for the final marriage if it ended in death of the subject (Charles Allen) unless he did actually divorce her. DId this last wife predecease him? I'd leave her be without a termination date.

Clear as mud? Just know that your ancestors aren't alone, many of us have folks in the same category. I have one great-aunt who divorced her children's father when she was in her 80s. They did stay friends, but he remarried!

Dorothy,

That's what I thought I should do and had tried. When you do that, all that happens is you get thrown back to the original profile. At least in Charles and Phillis' case it was subsequent marriages. I can deal with that.

Now to figure out how I want to word my grandmother's seven marriages; two different men she married twice, not subsequently. Isn't it fun?
I stand corrected, Dale. Too bad as it would be nice to be able t do this but I guess the best solution is exactly what Debi has done and put it in the bio-narrative.
And Debi, isn't it exciting to live in such a colorful family!
Dorothy and Debi, I too think that it would be good to be able to do this, I actually believe that it should be made allowable because there are more than a few family's that this happens in, but the way the program works for now will not allow it.
